Silversea Cruises has announced the launch of S.A.L.T. Lab Radio—a new culinary podcast, produced in the same immersive spirit as the cruise line's pioneering S.A.L.T. programme (Sea and Land Taste), which will use storytelling to unlock entire ecosystems around culinary discovery when it launches aboard new ship Silver Moon. S.A.L.T. Lab Radio is available to stream at no charge on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.

Hosted by Adam Sachs, Silversea's Director of the S.A.L.T. programme and former Editor-in-Chief of Saveur Magazine, and with special guest appearances from culinary experts, each episode of the new podcast will take listeners deep into the world's richest culinary cultures. Its setting will change according to the geographical positioning of Silversea's Silver Moon and the S.A.L.T. programme. Along with Sachs, the podcast is co-produced by Howie Kahn, Rob Corso, and Casey Kahn at FreeTime Media.

Sachs and team have travelled far and wide to digest the most engaging culinary stories and meet the most fascinating guests: recorded on location, S.A.L.T. Lab Radio will enable listeners to follow food to its source, to meet the people preserving culinary traditions, creating new ones, and teaching us all how to eat in more well-informed ways.

Red Planet Hotels announced the opening of Red Planet Hiroshima in the city's Nagarekawa district. The new 160-room hotel features the Red Planet brand's space efficient guest rooms, casual atmosphere, and intuitive technology, such as high speed wi-fi throughout the hotel and streaming services on in-room TVs.

Red Planet Hiroshima is well located, adjacent to Peace Boulevard and just steps from the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Shukkeien Garden, and corporate offices, consulates, and government offices of the central business district. Hiroshima's Electric Railway, which transports travellers non-stop through the city centre and surrounding areas, stops directly outside the hotel, offering guests easy access to the peaceful Miyajima Island, picturesque Hiroshima Castle, and transport to and from the central railway station.

“Hiroshima is a historic city, filled with charming parks, symbolic buildings and monuments, and ever-growing food and nightlife scenes,” said Tim Hansing, Red Planet's CEO. “This has established the city as a desirable destination among both local and foreign visitors, and Red Planet Hiroshima will help connect those travellers to all the must-see spots in the city.“

The nearby Peace Memorial Museum recently completed a two-year renovation in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombing, resulting in a record number of visitors to the city.

Red Planet Hiroshima will join Red Planet's growing portfolio in Japan, alongside Red Planet Tokyo Asakusa, Red Planet Nagoya Nishiki, Red Planet Okinawa Naha, Red Planet Sapporo Susukino South, and the newly opened Red Planet Sapporo Susukino Central. The Lux Collective Partners with Mark Read Photography to Raise Funds for Endangered Mauritius' Wildlife

The Lux Collective, one of the largest hotel operators in the Indian Ocean, has partnered with award-winning British photographer, Mark Read, and the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation to raise funds through the sale of photographic prints to aid the endemic wildlife in Mauritius affected by the oil spill.

“The oil spill is not in proximity nor has it directly impacted our resorts, however we are deeply concerned about the impact it will have on the wildlife, the eco systems and livelihoods of communities that depend on marine and coastal biodiversity. We call upon all lovers of Mauritius to come together and help clean up this mess. Together with Mark Read, a friend of LUX* Resorts & Hotels and renowned photographer, we seek your support in buying art for good,” said Julian Hagger, Executive Vice President of The Lux Collective.

10 prints were carefully curated to celebrate the beauty of the island, ocean, flora and culture. All prints are available for purchase on our website in two sizes (16 x 12 cm and 20 x 16 cm) for EUR 100 and EUR 150 respectively. All proceeds will go to Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. To support Mauritius and save its endemic wildlife, please click here.

Since 1985, Mauritius Wildlife Foundation has been working to restore the 26-hectare Ile Aux Aigrette into a coastal forest resembling the reserve that existed 400 years ago. The oil spill is now threatening the entire ecosystem.

During the week, team members of LUX* Hotels & Resorts, SALT Resorts and Tamassa Resorts, as well as local and regional communities, have also banded together to donate five tonnes of human hair in order to produce booms to stem the flow of oil to the coast.
